Thanks to Stephanie, who left a comment on another post about Switching Sexes: The Aftermath, a documentary that aired last night on the Discovery Health channel. From the Discovery Health website, here’s the synopsis:
For people who find that their mind’s identity and physical sex are mismatched, sexual reassignment surgery is a viable solution. Follow two transsexual men as they struggle through the heartache and sacrifice of becoming female.
The show airs again on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. If you tune in, let us know your reactions by leaving a comment here.

I watched Swtiching Sexes: The Aftermath, on Saturday. I admire the bravery and perserverance of everyone in the show. For some reason I really appreciated Michaela’s story. Her identifying the moodiness from the hormones to the blood clot from the estrogen hit home with me.
I am a post-menapausal woman who had a blood clot in my abdomen resulting in ischemic colitis and seven bleeding ulcers. The doctors took my estrogen away from me also. I am so happy she got to at least wear the patches! I miss my estrogen!
I am amazed and I admire all of the ladies and how much they had to go through to end up being who they really are. I am not sure I would have had the guts if it were me. Best wishes to them all, especially Michaela.
